That's right! It's ok to choose self-compassion. It's about time that you give unconditional care and love to yourself. Self-compassion is about giving yourself grace. It's about acknowledging, then letting go of negative feelings like guilt, shame, fear, and failure so that you can truly experience acceptance. The following tips will help you as you center your thoughts and feelings on compassionate care for self.
Tips for how to engage in self-compassion:
Forgiveness.
Give yourself grace. Be kind to yourself. Guilt and shame are not welcomed here.
Power of Positivity.
Speak Daily affirmations to yourself. They help improve self-confidence and self-concept.
Breathe.
Deep breathing improves concentration and memory. It helps to relax your mind and bring your body back into homeostasis (balance).
Watch your Mouth.
Your food habits will impact your health and wellness. Make healthy food choices because what you what into your mouth helps to fuel your mind and body.
Rest.
Rest is critical to supporting the healthy functioning of your immune system. Getting at last 8hrs of sleep daily will help to reduced stress, improved mood and metabolism. Rest helps to reset your body and increase energy.
Ask for HELP.
It’s ok to ask for help. Some of our emotional burdens should not be managed alone. You will need the support from those you love and who love you. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength.
